Hello,!
Today we released version 0.2.0. I'm pasting the changelog below for
convenience, the updated version is already live at standard.publiccode.net.
October 26th 2020: đ the sixth draft splits a requirement and adds clarity.
- Split âWelcome contributionsâ criterion into âMake contributing easyâ
and âWelcome contributorsâ.
- Rename criterion âPay attention to codebase maturityâ to âDocument
codebase maturityâ.
- Changed MUST to SHOULD for requirement of codebase in use by multiple
parties.
- Add MUST NOT requirement regarding copyright assignment.
- Clarify role of configuration in reusable code requirement.
- Glossary additions: continuous integration, policy, repository, and
version control.
- Replace references to âcitiesâ with âpublic organizationsâ.
- Clarify aspects of sensitive code by separating contributor and
reviewer requirements into separate items.
- Expand further reading, and guidance to policy makers, developers and
designers.
- Add Felix Faassen and Arnout Engelen to authors.
- Made additional minor changes to text for clarity.

Hi all,
The next Standard for Public Code community call will be held on Thursday,
5 November, 14.00 (UTC).
Video call-in link: https://meet.publiccode.net/StandardforPublicCode
<http://odoo.publiccode.net/r/OFU/m/717>
This month we would like to hear from you and discuss what challenges you
have had with the Standard for Public Code. It could be related to getting
traction in your own organization to actually start using it, or on
applying it once you have started. We want you to be able to use this as
smoothly as possible and feedback from you on what is holding you back can
be beneficial for the whole community.
As always, the purpose of the community call is to make room for you, your
questions and your opinions - so if there is anything else on your mind,
feel free to bring it up. Also, if you cannot participate in this specific
call but have thoughts on translations, feel free to just reply to this
email.
Preliminary agenda. <http://odoo.publiccode.net/r/LHQ/m/717>
We look forward to seeing you on the call!

Hello,
We have a bunch of open issues calling for additions of 'further reading'.
Do you have any tips or suggestions that would help a reader of the
Standard for Public Code get the context and learn more about the
prescribed methods and processes?
Share your tips to the mailing list, or directly on the issues linked below:

On the agenda we have a change of wording suggested
<https://github.com/publiccodenet/standard/pull/353> related to the
criterion Create reusable and portable code that we would like to discuss.
This is not a functional change, but would hopefully make it easier to
understand.

Last month we talked about if we should start with translations of the
Standard for Public Code and what they could be used for. It was clear
there was a need, so this time we would like to hear from you about more
practicalities about this. We have made some first assumptions in this issue
<https://github.com/publiccodenet/standard/issues/336#issuecomment-680855079>,
and now we would like to know if they are correct and also hear from your
experiences about processes and platforms for translations.
As always, the purpose of the community call is to make room for you, your
questions and your opinions - so if there is anything else on your mind,
feel free to bring it up. Also, if you cannot participate in this specific
call but have thoughts on translations, feel free to just reply on this
